We are especially committed to working with herding breeds and high-drive dogs who often struggle in traditional shelter environments. Many of these dogs are intelligent, sensitive, and deeply loyal — but they require structure, patience, and understanding to thrive.

Big Bear Shelter & Rescue is funded in part through proceeds from Big Bear® Sunglasses and the Shades for Shelters® initiative.
Rather than relying solely on donations, our model integrates a for-profit brand that helps generate recurring revenue to support sanctuary operations. A portion of proceeds from every pair of Big Bear sunglasses helps fund rescue infrastructure, dog care, and long-term development.
